Managing MAMEUI32`s Title Folders (BAFFLED!)

Post by JAC77 » August 19th, 2015, 1:43 am

Hey guys,

Sorry that my first post is asking for help!

I'm brand new to this MAME and impressed with it so far but the titled is driving me crazy.

As you can see I've gotten in to a bit of a mess!!! :arg:

All I want to show up on the left hand side is "All Best" (all the ROMs I have downloaded), "All Current" (What I am playing at the moment) and "All Games" (every single ROM that the emulator has access too):

Please don't recommend that I change emulators to something newer/better as I tried the lot before settling on this one as it was the only one that ran well on my prehistoric pc!!! :woot:

I've searched everywhere else on-line for help but nothing and I've tried everything myself as you can see from the dog's dinner I've managed to make with it!!!!!

Please help.

Thank you.

It's working OK here. I'm just repeatedly right-clicking in the left pane of the GUI, selecting 'Show Folders', and individually turning each of the main folders on or off. To disable any custom folders, go into the MAME root directory, open the folder called 'Folders' and remove INI files as you see fit. At the very least, I would keep the original Custom.ini file on standby somewhere as a template for creating whatever other custom folders I might want.

Thank you so much for your speedy response mate.

Your first suggestion was not doable my end but your second suggestion worked a treat!

Cheers!

It's strange that my first suggestion about right-clicking in the left pane of the GUI didn't work for you. Here's how it looks when I'm doing it:

There I have unticked everything except for 'All Games' and there is also the default Custom.ini showing that's located in the 'Folders' folder.

In any case, if that still doesn't work for you, it can also be done manually in the MAMEUI.ini located in the root directory. Here's how the relevant line of the DISPLAY STATE OPTIONS section looks in mine based on the same modifications:

Code: Select all

hide_folders "available, manufacturer, year, source, imperfect, working, nonworking, originals, clones, raster, vector, trackball, Lightgun, stereo, harddisk, samples, savestate, bios, horizontal, vertical, screens, mechanical, nonmechanical"
