Processor Advice

Post by baezl » November 15th, 2013, 12:02 pm

Hey guys,

I bought a LGA1550 motherboard for cheap and was wondering what is an ok processor. It supports the following processors: 4th Generation Intel Corei7/Corei5/Corei3/Pentium/Celeron (LGA 1150)

Any recommendations?

I am strictly going to run mame on it. I intially wanted something that can handle NFL Blitz but seems like I need a kick @!#?@! expensive processor.

I am looking at the following two:

1 - Intel Pentium G3430 Haswell 3.3GHz LGA 1150 54W Dual-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics BX80646G3430

2 - Intel Core i3-4130 Haswell 3.4GHz LGA 1150 54W Dual-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4400 BX80646I34130

Any recommendations and anyone want to share what there running?

Video card thought?

I run a few emulators and I use a AMD quad core running at 2.8ghz, some of the 3D games (but not all of them by a long way) in MAME run a little bit slow but everything else is as sweet as... Either of the two processors you are looking at should tick along nicely mate... MAME doesn't rely on video cards, sadly, as the devs are trying to reproduce the hardware exactly and none of the older games had a 4GB super mega mental turbo graphics card in them...
Ooer... No pictures...

that Core i3 you are looking at should run NFL Blitz nicely. I am running a 2nd gen core i3 2120 @ 3.3ghz and I can run Blitz very well. I play a lot of Blitz and bought a PC that that could handle it. Good Luck!
