My latest cabinet

Post by gpzjack » February 17th, 2013, 10:14 am

Just finishing up. This i my first cab that i did the print work on. Went with the white to conserve ink. I'm using a Logitech ls21 sound system that has a remote volume control that also has a headphone jack. I mounted it just under the controller. Its nice to have the headphone jack if you don't want to keep anyone up.

Ooh, and there's another cab in progress behind it. I've never seen anyone pump out as many MAME cabs as you, Jack. Most people just build one for themselves and leave it at that. You're the arcade cab man!

Thanks. I'm hoping to start on my cab for myself soon. I already have all the wood cut. I'm pretty excited about it since i'm going to try some new things with it and it will be a pattern for cabinets to come. I'm also working on a dedicated racing cabinet. Trying to buy a vacation home right now so it will be slow coming.

Looks great Jack! Do you happen to have any pictures during the build process? Your controller looks like an XArcade 2 player setup. If that is, I'm wondering how you mounted it. It looks great, like it was originally built there with the cabinet. I'm about to start on another cabinet for a friend soon and would really appreciate any input you have.

Great looking cab. I love the art on it.

yes its a x-arcade. I pulled off the the xarcade surface and replaced it with black formica. The cab was an old one that i got for $10. I put new formica on each side of it and new t-molding. I mounted the x-arcade to a board about 8x24 then used angle brackets to mount it on each side. I'm hoping to start on one from scratch this weekend. If i do i'll post pics along the way.

to do this step, do you have to remove all of the buttons and joysticks?
