My First Mame Cabinet

Post by Vedderist » October 17th, 2011, 5:44 am

G'day guys, I'm only new to this forum but thought I'd share some shots of my Work In Progress Mame Cabinet.

I chose to route the edges instead of using T Moulding. I'm pretty happy with the result

Nice work! Are you going to have fans exhausting air out of the back vents?

Yep I'll get a couple of 120mm PC Fans for the back. Theres not a great deal of room in there with the pc and the Sub. So good ventilation will be important.

Cool dude! I dig that you kept the buttons to a minimum. I've seen plenty of other cabs with crazy, unnecessary crap plastered haphazardly all over the control panel. This is a great example of how it should be done.

Cheers. Yeah some cabs really go overboard. I can see why people need a lot of buttons to play the different kinds of games out there, but I really couldn't see the need for a trackball, spinner and the like.

Very Nice Veeder. When I see nice clean cabs like this one, all shiny and new, it makes me want to give my cab an overhaul. I converted an old S.F.II cab and it could use a little TLC but it is just so much fun to play. Great Work.

Did you spray paint the plexi for your bezel? It looks good whatever you did.......

Oh and I have one other question...... I see you went with an LCD monitor. In your opinion, how does it look? Are you happy with the graphics on the LCD? There are so many debates on the web about LCD vs. CRT for MAME cabs but I would like to hear how you like it.
