Gradius 4 Fukkatsu

Post by furiouswindbottom » April 30th, 2010, 12:17 pm

I use Mame plus 0.129eu.

It seems to play every possible game but Gradius 4 doesn't want to know.

Has anyone got Gardius IV working and if so, what version of Mame did you use? The reason I ask is that my 'all games' folder shows the game as 'working but no sound' when the game does not work. Most of my pals have tried an cannot get it working on different versions. HAS ANYONE EVER GOT THIS TO WORK!!!>???

It runs on my old pc, but I get slowdown.

Go to http://www.kaillera.com/download.php and download - Mame32 Plus Plus v0.119 (10.9Mb) and get the rom from romnation.

Not enough of you noobies are reading Hierophant's mamefaqs! http://www.mameaddicts.com/phpBB3/viewt ... ?f=5&t=286.

It worked (but it is pretty slow on my computer as well).

Cheers though. I've read so much stuff about versions of mame but never had one better than 0.129.eu (it has the blue 'M' as well).

You could be right...this one seems better

You might be able to set your graphics card do a bit more of the work in that game, but I don't know if it's possible. It's worth a Google if you're desperate enough.

This is pretty much the only version I use. It has excellent compatibility with the roms from romnation/romworld (you'll find most games just work with no hassles) and it has Kaillera built in for online play.

I have that version of mame32 and I got the rom from romnation. I get an error:

"The sound emulation isn't 100% accurate"

When the game starts up there are some random numbers in the top left of a black screen. Then an error comes up:

JVS not found
RTC checksum error
set to all factory settings
Press test switch to continue

Try pressing enter or moving left and right on the keyboard when it says that. It might take a bit of time to load as well.

The test switch is the F2 key by default.
