Save/Load Slots in MAME32 0.84u2

Hello everyone.

I had a couple questions about using save/load states for MAME32 0.84u2.

1) How many total slots are there? I've heard a-l and 1-0 are usable, which would make 19, but are there more available beyond that?

2) Are these slots per rom, or for MAME as a whole? Basically, if I have Metal Slug 3 saved in slot a, and then use slot a in a different game, will it overwrite the Metal Slug 3 save, or create an "a" save for the other game as well?

G'day :hello:

In the oldest MAME I use, mameppk 0.119, every number and letter key counts as a save slot, for a total of 36 slots.

The save states for each game are stored separately by ROM name in the sta folder, so slots can't be overwritten by other games.

You'd have to check if the same rules apply to 0.84.
