Looking for a GLSL shader of flat scanlines

Post by JustinBailey » May 11th, 2016, 4:31 pm

I can't find simple scanline shader without fancy effects. I'm looking for simple, classic 50% intensity scanlines. This is for a machine with a crap gpu.

I just checked in a recent build of MAMEUIFX and the old school scanlines are still available for use.

Go Options > Default games options > Advanced > Select effect > Scanlines.png > Open > OK.

I just downloaded v0.172
Here is what it has. Look promising? Note this is 64bit.

In that case, then no. GLSL shaders are not gonna do what you want. They are what they are, as delivered. There is no simple way to adjust them. That's why I mentioned the old MAME scanlines. That sounds like the closest thing to what you're after, but I guess not quite fancy enough. Right? The other internal MAME option would be to mess around with HLSL, which is easily adjusted, and see if you can find an appropriate setting that way. Or there is the external option of looking into buying a scanline generator.

I am on Linux so I can only use GLSL. It wasn't really that important. I normally use GLSL, but I was only asking for use on some slow computers that might run mame faster with GLSL enabled. The effect option will have to be good enough. Thanks.
