v0.164. When I Audit the game, it tells me it can't find the ROMSET.

I've tried putting the CHD into a zip with the Taitogn ROM files called raycris.zip but same problem. I'm not sure it even see the CHD file.

Don't zip the CHD with the ROM. Keep the CHD separate.

That sounds like a MAME settings problem. A raycris.dif file will get created in the diff folder when the game is first run. Try moving the mame.ini out to an external location then run MAME. A default mame.ini will get made in its place.

Is that the 5KB MAMEUI config settings file?

I'll try that.

No, it's the 9KB one in the INI folder.

Okay it's 10KB for me, I moved it to the Desktop and ran. Same problem occurs ??? So to clarify, I have a raycris.chd and taitogn.zip in my ROMs folder.

I have also tried resetting to default. It's strange because I have 50 or so other games all running fine.

The error has changed slightly:

upd78081.655 NOT FOUND (NO GOOD DUMP KNOWN) tried in raycris, taitogn raycris. Raycris.chd NOT FOUND

I'm only in 0.152 but I do have the raycris.chd file into a raycris folder (itself into the rom folder) and it works fine, I don't even have a raycris.zip main rom file ?

FPU, go to the INI folder and open mame.ini. Have a look at CORE SEARCH PATH OPTIONS. Make sure the rompath is set correctly, either as roms or the actual address of the correct folder. Then go to the ROMs folder and make sure that the CHD is called raycris.chd and not raycris(1).chd or some such other incorrect name.
