Changing Your Avatar

You'll need to choose a free image hosting service. I mainly use PhotoBucket and Picasa (Picasa is part of Google). There are plenty more besides, but whichever one you choose, the result is much the same - you can upload your images to the service and each image will generate its own online link.

Make sure the avatar is within maximum dimensions; width: 100 pixels, height: 100 pixels, file size: 8.79 KiB.

Everyone, please also be aware of the NO HOTLINKING rule.
Site Rules wrote:8) Only link images from trusted sources, like your personal online picture host. (eg. http://www.flickr.com/ , http://photobucket.com/ , etc.)

What is HotLinking? = Bandwidth theft or "hotlinking" is direct linking to a web site's files (images, video, etc.). An example would be using an <img> tag to display a JPEG image you found on someone else's web page so it will appear on your own site, eBay auction listing, weblog, forum message post, etc.
This is very important because the site operator for the original image may detect the bandwidth theft and swap the image out for something really nasty, making the hotlinker look like a fool, or worse. Ignoring this rule could result in an official warning or a ban for repeat offenses.
