There was an arcade in Chicago's south suburbs called "Aladdin's Castle". It was a dedicated arcade too, no food or drink, JUST GAMES!! A buddy and I would grab some beer ( I was about 19 or 20), down a few outside in the car, go in and play, Then down a few more brews and go back in and play some more. Yes, we fully know that the beer made us play WORSE but we didn't care. It was all about fun!

Playing Time Crisis must've been hilarious.

It doesn't seem to help much with video games, but I always turn into a better pool player after a few beers.

I also remember discovering (at age 5 or 6) my 1st arcade! Next to a laundromat, I remember seeing Gorf, Wizard of Wor, and PacMan for the first time (among many others). I was intrigued by PacMan, gave it a shot. Then I kept saying, "Why do I keep dying? I ate HIM!!!" Then I found out later that you have to eat the power pellet first. Shoulda watched the demonstration. DUH!!
