I noticed that soldering is a popular skill on here, so I decided to open up some discussion. I first got interested in soldering when I read articles on how people make arcade sticks for their video game consoles. I always wanted to learn how to solder. So I decided on going to a tech school this spring(since that's when the tech school classes start in my area) to learn how to solder. My goal would be to make an SNES arcade stick someday that would work with fighting games such as Street Fighter II, Killer Instinct, etc. For right now though, I'm going to assemble a USB fighting stick by using a PCB that's wiring harness-powered. I figured that would be the best way to get started in wiring-based skills. Anyhow, when did you learn to solder and how did you start getting into the skill?
