Picked up SSFIV (PS3) myself the other day and I'm loving it. I've always wanted to really dig into a fighter and gain some level of mastery over it but never really have. Maybe this will be the one. The game certainly is spectacular to look at.

Am I the only one who has this problem :???: It seems the graphics for the continue countdown and the 8ing logo are messed up in my roms. They worked the very first time I ran them but now I get nonsense characters for those items. Everything else seems fine but its annoying having messed up stuff...

yeah, i'm pretty sure shutting down d3doverrider solved the problem. I'm not certain though if its specifically related to that app or if its just vsync in general that brings it on. Right now I'm running with the "sync to monitor refresh" option in MAME and it seems to be working fine...
I'm running it on a brand new laptop - I7 cpu, 4 megs of ram, ati4650 vidcard. Its the current version of MAME - 137 I believe. Actually, I may have it resolved anyway though - I run D3Doverider normally for vsync but I think it cuases the stutter in mame.
