I'm new, so I apologize if this topic is covered somewhere else.
I'm trying to get old Tiger and Konami handheld games to run on MAME, but I haven't had any success. I'm the furthest thing from an expert, but I know that you usually just put the game files in the rom folder and you're good to go. Well the handhelds have a game file as well as backdrop art. Where do I put these and how do I get them to run properly? I'm an amateur, so I really need this explained like I'm a five year old, or possibly a very clever four year old. Thanks!

I'm really sorry, but even though MESS is lumped in together with MAME nowadays, here we are only focussed on what MAME was originally all about, the arcade games. I can only suggest searching for MESS in MAME tutorials. For example, I just did a quick search and found a MESS User's Manual here:
