A Beat-Em-Up I played as a kid.

Can't think of the name of that arcade game you used to play? This is the place to ask!

A Beat-Em-Up I played as a kid.

Eh? It's me again. I remember playing a Beat-Em-Up at a card shop one day when I was very young. I cannot, for the life of me, remember much, though. All I remember was that the boss of the second level was a giant Sphinx, but there were also griffon enemies in the same level. There was definitely a female playable, as I still remember her "YEAH!" voice clip. ...or something like that. The second level was a grassy area with trees, while the third level was a red building of some sort. I know this isn't much to go by, but does anyone know of a game of this description?

I've tried checking some likely suspects, but so far had no luck finding a game where you beat up a sphinx.

I just remember a beast-like creature with a very evil, humanoid face and white eyes. It was a medieval game kind of like Dungeon and Dragons, but I don't recognize that boss from the D&D games.

Anything that comes sort of close?

Hmmm.... Interesting. That sounds a lot like a manticore, a mythical creature which is also part of the D&D universe and appears in both games; Tower of Doom and Shadows over Mystara.

One of the Dungeons and Dragons games MIGHT be it, as it has griffons(Owlbears) and the Manticore boss, but the Manticore doesn't look like the creature I remember. I remember specifically a sphinx boss. Of course, it's been a LONG time, so I don't know how well I can trust my memory on this.
