Viper Phase 1 (World, New Version)

Set name: viprp1

Image

Opening score: 517,714

This represents a fairly average run - beating stage 1 and dying somewhere in stage 2 - so it should be reasonably obtainable for everyone with a little practice.

Good luck & have fun! :V:

Hey all. Sorry I have not been around. I have been pretty sick lately. Missed a week of work. I am on some good drugs now and getting better, but they knock me out. I probably will not get to compete in this one. :arg:

Oh, man, that's a shame. Such a damn fine game I chose, too!

I feel much better thanks to some good antibioitics. I am not sure how long this challenge will go, but I think I can give it a whirl. :V:

Firstly, Hiero this is a fantastic shooter, absolutely love it, graphics, music everything... Particularly the big explosions that thump like heck when the sub is turned up a bit...
Secondly, Hiero (again) or Max, I fully expect my score to be obliterated as soon as it's posted...
Thirdly, glad to hear you're on the mend Incito...

I know this challenge is almost over, but if anyone else is still trying, I was able to get that score by changing to and solely using the missile weapon and destroy everything small as it entered the screen before getting a chance to return fire, obviously the bigger enemies still get shots off, but it's less to worry about... Also when a boss has stopped firing and is in the process of exploding, keep firing and you still get points until it goes bang... I didn't think I was going to get anywhere near the opening score, then the missiles happened..!

Excellent challenge...

Man, this one was really difficult. I had managed to get 100% destruction in stage 2 because of the upgraded "M" (missile?) weapon, which has a really wide range. Resets were plentiful here.

Incredibly difficult, but fun game nonetheless.

Thanks for showing some scores, guys. I was starting to wonder if anyone else was playing.

Agreed, Panther, the audiovisuals are fantastic. Seibu Kaihatsu make the best explosions! It's cool that you noticed that little trick to keep firing at the bosses during their death animation and scavenge some extra points.

Nice score, DieCobros! As you can see from my score sheet, I've only gotten in that point range twice so far. According to the service menu I've put in over 400 credits during the challenge. Like you say, though, the vast majority of those would have been resets when things didn't go according to plan.

My weapon of choice is N (Napalm). It's feels so destructive! There's still a bit of time left so I'll play till the last minute to try and improve.
