The following pics show the finished product of about 13 months of building. It took a while but I am overall happy with the finished product. I dont have alot of time for projects which is why it took so long. I am far from a carpenter so please excuse some of the flaws, as I know there are many.

Some info about the arcade machine:

The arcade is made fully of MDF and weighs what seems like a ton. The arcade is powered by a RaspberryPi 3 with a 32GB microSD card, which of course has MAME installed on it. I have a wireless keyboard, SNES usb dual port adapter and an IPAC2 for the arcade sticks and buttons connected to the Pi. The speakers are a thrift store pick up for $20 which was from an home theater system which included 4 speakers and a subwoofer. The speakers are powered by an amp that I was able to find on Amazon for $14. The monitor is a 25 inch Viewsonic. The marquee is lit by LEDs that change colors. Not counting the hours completing this build it cost roughly $550-$600. Feel free to comment or ask questions. I will be building another one in the next couple of months and would love feedback on how to improve upon this build for all of my future projects. ... pfkqwt.jpg ... s9frx5.jpg ... ax3vea.jpg ... 9lgvej.jpg ... aacnas.jpg ... fp1sqt.jpg

I have more pics during the building process and will post if anyone would like to see them.

Thanks, it was well worth the time and effort.

I want to build a MAME only cabinet but I'm relatively new to the mame program, it seems complex. The raspberry pi build was pretty easy in that you ust drop roms in the MAME folder and whatever works works and whatever doesn't there isnt a work around to get it working. 90% of all CHD games do not work on the Pi. So since joining the site I've been reading up on the tutorials and help sections to improve my knowledge of MAME so I can get more games to work.
