Hi, my name is tonystarks1311 and I am from the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
I have some questions:
Where can I download roms?
When is wangan midnight maximum tune going to be emulated on MAME?
Only kidding
My plan is to build a final fight cab using these plans: http://www.arcadecab.com/Projects/Arcad ... Plans2.pdf
My budget is $500 max. I will be working on the cab intermittently due to work/family constraints and also so it is harder for my mrs to work out how much money I have spent on it.
Thank you for the great resource! I hope I can contribute to it while I bumble through the construction of my own cab.
Cheers
Hello from a long time gamer looking to build his 1st cab.

G'day mate
Haha! I nearly disapproved your post instantly when I saw the "where do I get roms" bit. I'm glad you were only joking.
Welcome and greetings from Wollongong.

Thank you. Do you reckon $500 is a reasonable estimate? That's including all the artwork, marquee etc. I was hoping to use 12mm MDF as I think 16mm plywood is a bit over the top for my 1st cab.

COncidering that you are not counting the PC and monitor.
Does this include the controller / control panel? If so, what do you plan to use?
You will be cutting it pretty close at $500. Xarcade sales an arcade kit for that price, and it might include the controller?????

Cool I will check out xarcade.
Speakers, computer, monitor, plexiglass, caster wheels, screws are already sorted for a grand total of $5. If I have money left I may upgrade the speakers and monitor.
I have decided on 16mm MDF as I was advised 12mm will be too flimsy.
I was planning on building the CP, I can source the parts for it locally but the CP and the artwork, marquee etc from gameongrafix are the most costly items.
Cheers

It would be great if you document your build with pictures and post it in the "Arcade Cabinets And More" section, good luck with it mate...

Thanks Panther, I will definitely document my progress. Space to actually assemble/work on the cab is quite limited so I am going to gradually acquire all the components, get the PC fully loaded and working correctly then lastly get the MDF to start construction.
I have joined this forum for a couple of reasons:
To find some like minded people who share a common interest with myself who can help me get a better understanding of how MAME works and how I can utilize it effectively;
To keep me motivated and thinking about the task at hand.
I may not start construction for a while but this is something I have wanted to do for ages.
Cheers
